@teto @matrix yeah the major difference in story paths will always come down to talking VS killing pretty much.

@teto @nihilvt yeah like the clothes you wear or car your drive have no affect on the roleplaying whatsoever. the life path you choose pretty much only matters for the beginning chunk of the game and only little dialogue bits after that. actions you take can adjust and tweak parts of stories and side stories here and there but nothing extremely major until the ending.

the main meat of the RPG formula is all in the character building, which was completely gutted and replaced at some point with much better options. i think it was the 2.0 update but it could have been before then a bit too. i just remember my friend telling me all about his build and i had no idea what he was talking about lol. but it's kind of cool, being able to just bust through a locked door because you have enough skill points allocated into your strength instead of finding a key or hacking it.

@Mr_NutterButter the notion that they're just bombing random fishermen is kind of funny to me. like how tf do you know? do you really think you have more intel on who these people are than the fuckin us government?

@nihilvt @teto yeah when i started the game i was disappointed because it wasn't what i thought it was going to be. then i adjusted to the kind of game it actually was and really liked it. then the ending i got just kind of sucked ass so i was back to being a bit disappointed again lol. i don't know what the obsession is with cyberpunk and having dogshit endings.

@teto not just cyberpunk 2077 the game i mean just the genre in general.

i liked the game and i played it back when it released. there are a lot of missed opportunities there i think, but it's still pretty good. i've only heard better and better things about it after all the updates too, which is commendable at the very least.

most of the combat is pretty shooty to be honest, but there are still a lot of ways you can play the game and approach combat scenarios. back when i played i went for a katana build and just dashed around slicing everyone up like a madman, it was awesome. if you go more into the tech skills you can just stealth around and fry people from the inside and shit like that.

as i usually say, probably pirate it to see if you enjoy what's there and then buy it if you did enjoy it.

i wish it were far more of an RPG in the vein of a bethesda game but better. i and i think a lot of people were expecting something more akin to a cyberpunk skyrim but what we got is closer to a cyberpunk witcher... which makes sense lol.

of course i had to start getting into cyberpunk shit again right after i started ff9... i gotta go force myself to play it now haha

I've been working on a cyberpunk world on and off for a couple years, here are some of the musicians in the world.

Before anyone jumps on my ass for using AI, I can't draw and I'm not going to go paying an artist for shit I'm not even producing. IF I ever produce shit like a TTRPG or a video game or whatever you can bet your ass I'll get something real, but AI is great for concepts. Fuck you.

Synth Head
Genre: Synthwave
A member of Ambrosia, has a full chrome skin replacement and plays different types of synthwave. Is just as ambiguous as the Hebe supercomputer that runs Ambrosia and arguably twice as shiny. Nobody knows Synth Head’s real name, gender, ethnicity, or even their voice. They don’t really care, either.

Go Go Krazy!
Genre: Kawaii Pop
A duo of female idols who live in Vox Beach, with a very cutesy, sanitized look and sound. They have been active since they were preteens with extremely managed lives and outward personalities. Behind the scenes, they’re often on some sort of drugs and have been teetering on the edge of breakdowns for years now.

Concept
Genre: Punk
A band that is compromised of independents from the Tri-Slums. None of them have any augments, being vehemently against consumerism and corporations. They have a lot of respect in the Tri-Slums from all of the different factions, despite their pretty vocal distaste for the gangs. They’re all straight-edge as well, keeping clean while still remaining cool as fuck.

InviGORE8
Genre: Glitch Hop
A small rap group that mixes several genres of music with hip-hop and then adds a blend of electronic on top to make something that sounds wild and weird but oddly catchy. They have members from each district of the city other than The Plumes, making them pretty popular everywhere they play. That’s a rarity though, because conflicts in the group happen extremely often and they’re on hiatus more than they are active.

i know a lot of you probably hate hip hop but i love it when rappers talk shit like this.

@coded_artist that's what happens when you drink too much of the rgb gamer juice

@matrix 10 might be a little young for this analogy but funny nonetheless

@matrix no idea, that's just what i've been reading from people talking about the game. the japanese are way more sensitive about violence than they are sex so i'm guessing it was too violent for the website?

@phnt apparently they do, maybe it is purely on the driver level

I was just now made aware that the creator of Demonophobia just barely released a 3D game called Dysthanasia. It was banned on DLSite but remains up on Steam since you need to download a separate uncensor patch, which is how a lot of Steam eroges operate.
