_Government's Self-Insulation_

"Ignorantia juris non excusat" is Latin for "Ignorance of the law does not excuse."

That should also apply to government officials—especially when they make or enforce laws that are themselves Unconstitutional, or when judges misinterpret the Constitution.

FTA: Rationally, however, what of the assumptions implicit in ['ignorance is no excuse' principle]? If one thinks about this principle from the perspective of the citizen, it is certainly not as straight forward as the government believes it is. If ignorance is not an excuse, then it logically follows that citizens must know all laws. Likewise, at the federal level, Ignorantia juris non excusat applies also to federal administrative rules. An appropriate question is how many laws and administrative rules are there that all citizens have to have memorized under this principle. Currently, the federal register contains slightly more than 30,000 statutes. So the law requires each and every citizen to memorize or, at least, be familiar with 30,000 laws and administrative rules in the federal register. It is also the case that the federal government adds between 200-600 statutes per year. A moving target indeed.

@remixtures let me guess, the city stopped issuing building permits due to environmental ideological reasons and now it would take too long to let the supply catch up

@PurpCat @icedquinn @cjd @FourOh-LLC I don't browser Reddit so I don't know. I only know of it because of that PJW video.

@santiagolmtz Did Miles actually say anything about this guy? I checked his MM's website and he said that he can't disprove relativity, only point out the holes.

@PurpCat @icedquinn @cjd @FourOh-LLC That Reddit post is literally just copied from that infamous Nintendo Switch post.

@Pawlicker same here! I like sharing art I enjoy. It's also cool when there is some collaborative effort going on. @matana made the cover art for this, @Mr_NutterButter made my company logo, and I've made music for one of @xianc78 's games :) I also was able to get a voice actor I needed through fedi too, so that's cool!

@beardalaxy @Jens_Rasmussen Which reminds me that I really need to get back to working on that indie site. I was considering redoing it because I think the PHP+MySQL set-up is not the best approach. It's something I would like to do eventually, but maybe with something like NodeJS and a NoSQL database instead.

A list of employee-reported privacy breaches at Google reveals that multiple Nintendo leaks originated from a Google employee accessing private videos on Nintendo's YouTube channel:

(there are much more serious, awful breaches too):

@beardalaxy It's at least worth trying though. The more places it's on, the more people you will attract. You can also try GameJolt as well.
