Except that can't happen anymore because any school network has Active Directory (or equivalent) which heavily restricts computer usage by having all accounts on a server. I was in 8th grade when our district did this and before that people would bring flash drives with flash games, ROMs, or whatever. I think I even brought games I made using batch files for friends to play.
After they installed active directory, everything you did was tracked, and the only things you could really do was use Microsoft Office or browse whatever sites that weren't blocked.
It's probably even worse now, because schools prefer even more locked down devices like Chromebooks or iPads for students.
@vriska I want that keyboard controller.

It's because we Eurasians are superior to you pure-blooded whites.

They are not the same. Video game cartridges use ROM chips (which often use NOR). Flash drives use NAND. Also, flash drives are completely re-writable while the only re-writable part of a video game cartridge would the battery-backed RAM if it has one.

>though i'd probably opt for something like custom flash drives.
autoplay.ini also works with flash drives.
>that's something for the future though. i'm not too concerned about making physical copies, more about just getting the game out there.
Please do keep it in consideration though. I think physical copies are a great way to reward those who actually support developers. I think that's why you still see indie developers finding ways to make physical releases of their games.
@cully45 @HunDriverWidow @Bleukitty @CDuBois @Andre @icare4america @DrFell @Mongo3804 @MMA I could see them pushing vasectomies like how they tried to push vaccines last year.
"Free fries for getting a vasectomy!"
@hideki I never understood why those existed. Porn games didn't really make sense until the CD era of video games.
@Kevin7557 I still can't believe all the public outrage about this whole abortion thing. I remember it being a subject that almost nobody talked about publicly because it was too controversial for mainstream discourse. Now, it's "support reproductive rights or you hate women".
@apropos @Kevin7557 They literally aborted their line of handhelds.
@Melon @PhenomX6 @beardalaxy @ryo
>I have never seen a game come on a flashdrive before
I think IndieBox releases physical copies of their games on flash drives. I thought they went out of business, but apparently they're back. I might consider striking a deal with them when/if I finish a game worth publishing.
@HunDriverWidow @Bleukitty @CDuBois @Andre @icare4america @DrFell @Mongo3804 @cully45 @MMA And if it doesn't pass, they will pass it again. This time for climate change and overpopulation.
