@djsumdog @crunklord420 @wowaname Wasn't GitHub's Co-pilot made to undermine the GPL?
Honestly, I think there are people who are worse than Drew DeVault. The "ethical software" movement immediately comes to mind. They actually want to destroy freedom 0 because they realize that it allows their ideological opponents to use their software in anyway they please. The only difference is that movement is still very niche. I can't think of any software released under an "ethical/antifascist" license that is even worth using.
@DiamondMind @3T @charlie_root @dcc @p @butterdog Miles Mathis has better evidence on why both might be frauds without claiming that they are the same person.

@wowaname @crunklord420 The worst part is that after he got demoted, he eventually got promoted again (and to moderator status too), only to abuse his privileges by kicking everyone off of the IRC channel after getting into a slapfight with someone, and deleting a thread about a calculator programming language.
After learning about these events, it was clear to me that he is literally the worst kind of Internet Tough Guy. He will literally climb the ranks of whatever Internet community and abuse his moderator powers on people he disagrees with. But now, he doesn't need moderator privileges. He just needs to be an influential figure in the FOSS community along with a cult of personality and he can cancel figures like Vaxry, or of course, Richard Stallman. You got organizations like Codeberg or the openSuse team that listen to him.
@crunklord420 @wowaname Islam worship seemed to have died down back around 2019-ish or so. I remember Muslims being white-knighted everywhere back in 2017-2018 due to Trump's comments, but I don't see it that much anymore. I guess it stopped when comments about "Islam is right about women/gays" comments started coming from the right.

Except that criticizing religion (with maybe the exception of fundamental Christianity) will get you banned from SourceHut.
@wowaname @crunklord420 Yeah. He made a huge fuss about it on a forum he used to be on. He was ranked "Coder of Tomorrow" on said forum, but he got demoted because of it.
@Nudhul @crunklord420 @wowaname Yeah, if it's not a religious faith, it's replaced with a sports team, corporate brand, celebrity, politician, political ideology, etc. Or it can be atheism itself because they constantly preach how they are 100% certain that there is nothing beyond this mortal plane of existence.
@crunklord420 @wowaname Yeah, him crying over people merely having a religion showed me that he was always like this.
gamedev
Trap door now has it's own sprite and sound effect for when it closes. The McGuffin sprite is now a mirror. (shout out to @Mr_NutterButter for the idea)

This is of course the same Drew Devault, alias "sircmpwn", who despite throwing stones at RMS for supposed sexual misconduct (that amounts to holding controversial opinions regarding freedom of speech and language usage), has his own glass house of "lolicon" enthusiasm, where he trades artwork of scantily-clad children on Reddit.
Image attached with evidence of Drew's pedophilia.

Lessons to be learned from the Drew DeVault situation:
* Keep your unrelated sociopolitical activism separate from your software development/free software activism.
* Attempting to cancel someone or multiple people can backfire on you.
* Being an Internet Tough Guy DOES have consequences.
* If you want/need to anonymously create a website while also having another website under your real name (or a different identity), use a different domain registrar, use different tools, and host it on a different server. Similar styles, tool-usage, and service-usage can link back to you.
* NEVER post or link to porn on an any account that can link back to you, ESPECIALLY if it's something controversial like loli. (Unless you are fine building your identity around that).
@SockPuppet @cjd It wouldn't surprise me if the legalization of raw milk in some states was made in response to issues with processing plants.
