@xenmen i'm not a huge fan of card games but it looked interesting. i will probably suck ass at it and i'm unfortunately not going to be around when he does the happy hour this week. if it's a big success though and i'm free next week i might hop on!

@Riamu @LordMordred that's why a lot of places have the family locker rooms where it's kind of like co-ed and it's just in the mind of everyone that you should really only be going in there if you are in a family that can't go into a gendered room, but i remember as a kid seeing fathers taking their daughters into the male locker room when there wasn't another option. i mean, that's a lot more acceptable than going into the women's one as an adult male or even sending them in there by themselves.

maybe that's changed because i haven't gone swimming at a public pool for over a decade but at least that's how it used to be.

just watched nick robinson's video on phantom dust: youtu.be/_BDClzHu-ho

it's a free game and apparently a lot of people like it. anyone here on fedi have any experience with it?

@Riamu @LordMordred idk where you guys live but in utah we have plenty of public pools and a lot of them have totally out in the open showers, lockers, and some even have separate ones for families instead of just male/female rooms.

@Jabrosa14 only time i watch trailers is if i'm either really interested in the movie (very rare occurrence) or if it's on an ad before a youtube video starts. usually i have adblock too but my TV doesn't.

@Jabrosa14 I thought that was made pretty obvious by the trailer.

The thing is, marvel movies will be taking themselves seriously for most of the movie but then there will randomly be a forced joke and it always feels way out of place. Super hero stuff CAN be goofy and still be really good, but it has to be the main focus and not take itself too seriously. Prime example is the Adam West Batman series. It's pure comedy and pure genius. It's probably my favorite Batman, might even be my favorite superhero stuff ever (next to the original Spiderman trilogy and Spiderverse). Deadpool is another one that had the balance down really well, but the second one I thought went a little overboard on the humor. Same thing with Guardians of the Galaxy versus the sequel.

I also really liked Logan for the opposite reason. It wasn't dark and edgy like Dark Knight or anything but it didn't fuck around with humor. They played it straight and it worked really well. The X-Men movies were always kind of like that though. I'm glad that they have kept them separate.

@Jabrosa14 oh god.....
I never watched stranger things, I have heard it is really good but then again there are so many things I've heard are really good that I ended up hating or thinking were blown out of proportion.
The fact that the guys named their whole studio off of something in stranger things, though, really doesn't sit right with me.
Not to mention, it's Netflix. They have never, EVER made a good anime adaptation. Death Note's only saving grace was Willem Dafoe as Ryuk. Everything else was shit. The characters were all completely different. Light was a whiny bitch, L was black and not a total weirdo, and don't get me started on Misa. Then there was a fucking chase scene. Man, it was something else.
I still think their ATLA adaptation will be complete shit too.

@Tadano @Shadowman311 it's like saying the US won the Vietnam War because we retreated and some of our soldiers were still alive

****although they would later be killed by agent orange****

@wolfspider despite how shitty of a company Nintendo is this is why I still like them, their games are built just to be fun and that's it.
