@FUCKINGWHOCARESDUDE I think part of why depression has become so common is because it has been normalized. Not the treatment of depression, but the illness itself. I've seen depression basically become an aesthetic and people get trapped in it as a part of their personality. The way it and other mental illnesses are treated is pretty toxic.

Society has this idea that not being normal is inherently bad, and so people try to normalize things so that they will no longer feel bad. It's twisting reality and that won't ever end well. Depression is one of the most serious examples.

Not supporting trans rights because they aren't really rights at all.

Supporting trans rights to be treated as their preferred gender at the hospital for gender-specific ailments like prostate cancer.

Man imagine being the best female at a sport, and then some dude on HRT takes that crown from you. I'd be so mad. It's pretty fucked up, honestly. You can only get so good with so much training as a woman, and a dude can just tear that away from you if they dress like a chick.

@julian @w0bb1t yeah when i need to redact text i've always just put a solid color over it. pixelating is harder, don't know why anyone would choose that option for text at least. faces/nudity i can understand but text is a weird choice.

@LukeAlmighty @matrix @sjw yeah that's nutty, i've never been on any transport for that long straight. the longest drive i've ever had was like 6 or 7 hours straight and i was cramped in the middle of the driver and passenger seat which sucked ass. at least in a train you have a little bit more space and hopefully a little bit of calm before the storm!

@matrix @sjw @LukeAlmighty maybe it's just a utah thing but holy shit a 2-3 hour drive is the end of the world for most people. my brother only lives like an hour away from me and only ever comes down for holidays. my roommate spends every waking moment of his time off with his girlfriend because she lives an hour away. it's kind of wild. i can't drive but it seems like it wouldn't be that bad to just chuck some music or a podcast on or whatever for the drive.
