@keisuke @warmbeverageenjoyer it helps that they're using unreal 5, which has access to nanite, so that is another way that they can make it look pretty realistic without suffering crazy performance penalties.

@keisuke @warmbeverageenjoyer it doesn't look like the game is using ray tracing, it all looks pretty rasterized to me, so that's a big performance save. they're almost definitely using photogrammetry for the environment and i am willing to bet it will be, for the most part, totally static.

@keisuke @warmbeverageenjoyer this is definitely a video game, you can tell in a lot of moments. i don't think it's pre-rendered either otherwise there wouldn't be frame drops and there are still some weird physics and lighting quirks. some of the animation you can tell is also very video-gamey, like the door kick.

i have doubts that the whole "gun moving independently from viewport" thing will actually be in the game though, unless this is a VR title. this is a thing that has been done for game trailers in the past that doesn't actually make it into the final game. for good reason too, because that would feel like ass to play and also be really hard to get looking right in practice outside of canned gameplay scenarios.

the death animations i'm skeptical on too, they do look very purposefully animated, but that won't work for every single situation.

@Kerosene @xianc78 @bronze if these stores actually cared they would have hired security but most don't even go that far. a lot of them don't even prosecute so it all goes completely unpunished.

the only place i can think of around here that actually has hired security instead of just using general mall security (which can't do anything except tell people to leave and call the police) is macy's, which has actual armed security guards.

but if you think i'm gonna' shoot a nigger if they come in and still a bunch of shit from dollar tree you're dead wrong lol. i'm pretty sure most companies have similar policies where they tell their employees to not do anything about it because they'd rather have a bunch of shit stolen from them than have to be liable for injuries.

Musk spent $44 Billion on this, can't even add a little text under western state sponsored media.

Twitter was born as and still is a CIA glow op

@KonataWagner now we have neither, instead pumping money into literal death.

@xianc78 he says he learned from zero, and mentions that the scripting is very easy, so i assume no.

@applejack @xianc78 yeah pretty much xD "star beard 69" is gonna' be the best game ever.

@xianc78 preferably, i would have loved for there to be some way to just make custom levels for star fox 64, much like there is for ocarina of time or mario 64, but unfortunately nobody's made any tools for that. the only star fox 64 hack is in fact not for sf64 at all, it's for oot xD

@xianc78 this guy says he made this in 80 hours and learned godot from complete scratch!

there's even a tutorial on how to do something similar in godot 3: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLGy

@xianc78 some of those don't seem any better than me just continuing to use rpg maker, like stencyl for instance. My end goal is to be able to make a simple game akin to star fox, and I was only looking into godot and construct because I know 3d is possible in them and they're not as difficult to use as unity or unreal. Perhaps it would be better to use one of those but hey, if I like the way the engine feels I'd rather use that. There's a reason why I've stuck to rpg maker for so long... Nothing else feels anywhere close to as user friendly.

I'll see what's around when I get to that point lol, it won't be for another year at least most likely. Hell, the new version of the game creators' engine could actually be really good when it releases for some reason.
