@arc yeah I wouldn't rule it out. They had the mii costumes in Smash and amiibo outfits for miis in Mario kart 8. I think if there is any it will be pretty inconsequential and not a main part of the game experience. Like I don't think they'll have loot boxes or anything like that.

there's this consistent rim lighting around donkey kong and i don't think it looks very good

@sendpaws i think that, going forward, we are going to see games with much more variable prices which is closer to how it was in the 80s and 90s. it'll be a mix of how much they think they can sell it for and how much money they spent on making it instead of just one standard price.

@KaiserKitty @smugumin there are certainly problems with some switch games, and the switch itself is a point of contention with its performance, being a mobile device using sub optimal 2015 hardware.

personally, i never wanted to play mario odyssey because of the whole moon thing, but i know a lot of people REALLY like the game namely because of the movement.

@KaiserKitty the development cost of MKW is most certainly not nearly as high as any other $70 video game, but a lot of those games end up being shit anyway. what i'm getting at is that nintendo knows the quality of their games is second to none, so they believe they can charge more for their games than everyone else.

@smugumin idk as much about capcom but i really don't think nintendo games are even mediocre, i think the only one in recent memory that is like that is probably princess peach showtime and it didn't do too well in terms of sales as far as i'm aware.

for many people, $80-$90 mkw is actually worth it and they will pay that, albeit a little begrudgingly. you'll find that they'll still sell relatively well, compared to the likes of $70 games on other platforms that we have seen go down in flames alongside their developers several times in the past couple of years. it's also why, even if gta 6 is $100, it'll still likely be one of if not the best selling video game of all time.

other game companies will try to price their games that high, for sure, and it will not work as well for them as it would for nintendo or rock star. there is a damn good reason why they are as expensive as they are and it's because they know that the quality of the game justifies the price point. whereas, you have other developers who have just blown way too much money on a bloated game and need to price it high in an attempt to make back what they spent and we keep seeing that fail.

@Mr_NutterButter nobody knows for sure, but i hear most people say that it would probably be his son.

@Mr_NutterButter i didn't really care about the aliens too much, tbh. i just fantasized about gwen :meru_lul:
