Introducing my hobby coding project since xmas:
Mastotron!
It's a different interface to Mastodon, replacing the mindless "feed" of most social media with a network map of conversations and recent and popular posts.
👉 You can download it here: https://github.com/quadrismegistus/mastotron 🖖
There's easy, double-click installation for Mac and Linux; Windows is a bit trickier for now.
This is b new, so bound to be bugs. But if you can, give it a whirl, and let me know if it works and what you'd like to see!
@ryo Governments won't leave Twitter because Big Tech is a government creation.
@ryo Or bring back private servers.
The WEF has coined "critical ignoring", meaning learning to ignore what they don't want you to know.

@PhenomX6 @meso @Zerglingman @Silly_CB Going full-freetard when it comes to gaming is pretty stupid though. There is nothing harmful about decades old DOS games or NES ROMs, no matter how much the FSF claims they are also unethical.
Also, the FSF still considers scripts (which games often use for events, AI, etc) as software, so even playing otherwise proprietary games with libre replacement engines, or games where the data is still proprietary (assuming the data has scripts) are still considered unethical according to the FSF. Scripts shouldn't be a problem because they are usually sandboxed and only work within the context of the game, but the FSF believes that all proprietary software is unethical, so your options are pretty limited.
@theredcaps First off, please don’t send me DMs. See my bio for more info.
Second of all, GoToSocial doesn’t support Soapbox on purpose because the author disagrees with my opinions: https://github.com/superseriousbusiness/gotosocial/issues/382
Unless you agree with every single political opinion of its author, I suggest avoiding GoToSocial.
@ArdainianRight @hachi It really disgusts me that these far-left, SJW, Mastodon fucks are trying to normalize mental illness. And I mean ones like schizophrenia.
Phantasy Star IV spoilers
@matana She's older than the main character. The main character is her trainee (or was until the start of the game where he is promoted). She's basically a decoy protagonist until her death.
nintendo direct
@beardalaxy I only saw the end of it, and when mean end of it, I mean the end of the Zelda trailer. Thought I did watch the full trailer afterward.
>bruh FINALLY advance wars is coming out xD fuck that "we can't release due to russia" bullshit.
They probably decided that the war isn't going to end anytime soon. It's either release it or cancel it, at this point. I don't care about strategy games either, but it is considered to be one of the best games of all time, so I should probably try it.
>gameboy/gba games on nintendo switch
I think they still wanted to squeeze as much as they still could from the 3DS and Wii U eShops. All I can see now is people petitioning Nintendo to localize Mother 3 again, even though it's probably never going to happen.
>metroid prime remaster
Never played the Prime games but given that my love for Metroid has grown over the years, I probably will try it.
>why are there SO MANY weird farming games and animal crossing clones coming out?
The success of Stardew Valley, probably. I still can't believe that game had overthrown Harvest Moon/Story of the Seasons. I bet most people who played that game don't even know what Harvest Moon even is.
>wave 4 of mario kart DLC adding birdo alongside the tracks? wow that is interesting, that means we could maybe get other characters in the future!
Even with all the DLC, it still feels weird that the Switch is the only Nintendo console, besides the NES, not to have an original Mario Kart game. (Mario Kart Live doesn't count) I really don't like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe because everything was pretty much unlocked from the start. I think the DLC should make up for it.
>tears of the kingdom looking FINE too btw.
It still didn't show much. I really hope they do fix the problems of BoTW and include actual dungeons this time.
@shadowferret @dielan A lot of people compare Fedi to email and are concerned that we might see the same thing that is happening with Email (Gmail monopolizing it and blocking small servers), but there is a good chance it may not happen.
You see, unlike Email, most people on the Fedi actually value the decentralization aspect. That has always been it's key feature. With Email, it was always an aspect about it but it never was a key aspect.
