I think my room is just insulated too well and the heat that gets generated doesn't have anywhere to go. Things only get cooler if I open my door or the window. This is a bit troublesome though because I don't want the cat sleeping on me (I'm technically allergic) and if I leave the window open for too long I'll wake up with either a bloody or runny nose half the time.

For all you overpopulation alarmists out there that are freaking out about 8 billion people, I just like to remind you these facts.

@dommymommy what the fuck is a sleep schedule

For the most part, my body only lets me get like 3-5 hours of sleep twice a day, and when that happens is up to fate pretty much. I've got too much manic energy going on for a normal sleep schedule.

For instance, I slept from 4:30-9:00 Sunday morning, then slept from 21:00-23:30 or so, then was up until 12:30 and slept until 17:00, then was up until 4:30 and slept until 7:30. I don't do it on purpose, I set my alarm for 13:00 today but no dice. I've got D&D later today so I'll probably need some caffeine to get me through it xD

At the very least, nobody would ever be able to know exactly when I was going to be awake or not so I won't fall victim to a surprise attack!

@dommymommy I can see how the games may not be fun for some people. The fucking music though, people have made covers in every genre under the sun. There is something for everyone there.

@dommymommy game design. Not really programming, but getting into the nitty gritty of what makes a game good. The systems at play, the way the artwork influences the player, the story and the soundtrack, all of that stuff. Basically GDC but in a class from 1 guy instead of a conference with a lot of guys. It would be fun to have the students, for the final or something, talk about their favorite game and what makes it work so well to be a good game, to show them that even though there is a lot of science behind it, people will still have different tastes at the end of the day too.

@alyx when I do this it's usually because I realize I've rambled for the majority of it lol, or that I really don't care what they're going to say back to me so I decide it isn't worth it

@matrix the worst offender here is probably Adobe, the fact you HAVE to pay monthly for their products instead of being able to just buy them like you used to be able to do is really shitty. They aren't hosting live services or anything, they're just relatively small software bundles. Fuck Adobe, there's a reason everyone just pirates their shit unless they get it for free or a huge discount from their work or school.

@matrix some of these are necessary evils. Servers have to be paid for somehow. Some of these are just good for convenience too, for instance I pay monthly for music because it's much more cost effective than buying every album that comes out that I want to listen to.

But then you have Nintendo Online that only gets a pass because it's really cheap. $20/year isn't too bad, but you do get what you pay for lol. NSO sucks cock.

You can't really expect someone to pay for all of this though, especially all of the individual movie/TV show services, so that's why piracy is just fine :meru_tea:

@lina @alyx @matrix back when all the teenage girls were making shitty covers of it and everyone gave them shit

@matrix I thought this was gonna be one of those videos where everyone dies

@matrix then you get to the actual levels and that's not really a problem anymore. It's dense and snappy. It feels like two completely different games merged with each other. I wonder if I could just cheat my way through the open world stuff and play the levels.

That's why the sonic unleashed mod for generations is awesome, it takes just the fast paced levels from unleashed and lets you play them in the generations engine. No stupid werehog shit.

But yeah for the open world, I always think it looks like a bad halo forge map and the "puzzles" are all lame. It seems like a lot of filler content to get to the good stuff, and that's a problem a lot of open world games have in general imo.

you know, the actual levels in sonic frontiers look pretty fun. i just hate the open world aspect.
