@matana @LukeAlmighty i'm not saying it is necessarily a bad thing. if women want to look pretty and feel pretty, even if it causes pain, they can do that if they want. it's pretty obvious that most guys don't give a shit but women do it anyway so they are not doing it to look pretty for guys. it's for self fulfilment, competition, and/or social acceptance, typically.

i'm just giving a reason as to why luke's step mom doesn't care that he doesn't care. she may think that you're SUPPOSED to have A B and C for the holidays and if you don't you aren't a successful mother and don't have a good family. parents do this kind of shit all the time with their kids too because they're worried that they will be seen as a failure.

@LukeAlmighty women don't do anything for men, they do it for themselves and other women. we tell them not to put on makeup, not to wear high heels, that they could wear the same outfit for three days in a row and we probably wouldn't notice or care, but they still do it anyway.
