Day 1 - Gargoyle

Very simple, but this is actually the first time that i try my hand at sculpting something complex, and for being the first time and not having graphic tablet or anything like that, the result is acceptable at least to me.

Day 2 - Scurry

Aaahhh... Low poly scenes are always the safe exit and wildcard for when you don't have an idea of what to do with a difficult prompt.

Day 3 - Bat

He's there, he's looking for you, and he's gonna bash your brains in.

Day 4 - Scallop

Bon appetit!

I was gonna add some sauce to it, but i need to up my shading game first...

Day 6 - Bouquet

Cempasuchitl is a traditional mexican flower, that apart of having a cute orange color, is used as a ceremonial plant during the celebration of Dia de Muertos, Oct 31.

Day 7 - Trip

And boy, i do really wish i could go for a trip far away, like, right now.

Day 8 - Match

"It's not about the money, it's about sending a message"

In retrospective the piece doesn't make too much sense, but it is what it is.

Day 9 - Nest

Before the big cataclysm that wiped the resources of the planet G-3487H, the inhabitants set up a series of orbital refugees to live. "The Nest" is one of them, built in the year 2xx8, currently houses an estimate of 583m people.

Day 10 - Crabby

This guy always ends up feeling crabby every time the little guys come trying to kill him.

Sorry if the piece is a bit crude, it literally ocurrred to me a couple of hours ago.

Day 11 - Eagle

"Fly like an eagle..."

The flapping animation cycle is a bit "hawkward", didn't had time to refine it further. I animated this just with shape keys, didn't used armature bones.

Day 12 - Forget

I...forgot what this prompt was about... i'm gonna go sleep.

Day 13 - Kind

"Be kind..."

Originally i don't like to fo free advertistment to big corpos, but for this i will make an exception... since it doesn't exist anymore.

Postprocesing done in VSDC

Day 14 - Empty

I will agree that this one it's not that great, and borderline simplistic, but my head was literally empty all this day, so this is all what we got.

Follow

Day 15 - Armadillo

An armored armadillo. This one was a lot of fun to make because i kept thinking what more details i could add (without making it too saturated)

· · Web · 2 · 7 · 9

Day 16 - Fowl

Eevee is still a beast that i don't understand 100% for all kinds of scenes, so this scene didn't came up exactly how i wanted, but i hope you like it regardless.

Day 17 - Salty

Not actually what i was gonna do yesterday, but i realized that i had actually bit more than i could chew, so i had to settle back a bit.

I'm a bit salty about that.

Oh yea, btw the pretzel it's hand painted :comfyxdsweat:

Day 18 - Scrape

This is a plane scraper, a tool to make coarser grain wood more finer (like if you used sandpaper).

These kind of prompts have me scratching my head and i am really scraping the end of the barrel to get something to post.

Day 19 - Ponytail

If you're wondering what this has to do with ponytails, well, that plant there is a Beaucarnea recurvata, also called a "Ponytail palm" (not really a palm), also in Mexico called an "Elephant's foot".

However nice they may look, please don't buy them because apparently they are being overexploited and they are on extinction danger.

Day 20 - Bluff

Better to post something simple than nothing at all ( ;゚д゚)

Day 21 - Bad Dog

Nobody is gonna call him a good boy. If you like your limbs do not pet him!

Day 22 - Heist

Everyone was thinking about money bills and banks, when i read "Heist" i can only think in stuff like "Ocean's Eleven" and stolen diamonds for some reason.

Day 23

I am getting a bit behind, i was supposed to upload this one yesterday.

Anyways, made this thing instead of the offical prompt, i didn't wanted to make snots or boogers.

It was supposed to be loopable but i forgot to change one thing so what the hell.

Day 24 - Fairy

Almost did something unrelated again, but i could think of this at the last moment.

Day 25 - Tempting

You are minding your own business, and then these bad boys show up in the table, what do?

It was very nostalgic to do donuts again, and also trying to remember how they were supposed to be made in the first place.

Day 26 - Ego

Like i said some days ago, i think it's better to put out something simple rather than nothing at all.

I would feel bad skipping a day, question of ego i guess.

Day 27 - Snack

Yesterday i couldn't do anything because i was kinda sick so i fell one day behind, but accept this pistachio ice cream as an apology.

Day 28 - Camping

Sorry, i spent an amount of 0 (zero) on that camping tent, but the background came out well i think.

Day 29 - Uh-oh...

I guess aunt Claire didn't wanted us playing soccer inside for a reason after all...

This one was gonna be animated, but it doesn't necesarily need to be animated to convey movement.

Day 30 - Gear

I couldn't think on anything else when i read the word "gear"... so here's this.

Just take into account that it's a one-day project, so i just quickly eyeballed the thing, and doesn't include too much detail because of that.

A random critique of your artpiece

@hideki
Water and the environment is perfect, but the swans are all in the default pose.

I believe, that deforming them slightly individually would make them more believable, while taking about 3 minutes to do.

@LukeAlmighty hah i won't even take advice from someone that can't tell aparte swans and geese :comfyglare:

Haha no but you are right, in fact i was gonna put some of them flying but i wanted to be done with this piece i forgot some things :apensive:

@hideki
Magical.
I don't get why did the salt have to go away, but this was so surreal, if I saw this ad in TV, It would be one of the best ones.

@LukeAlmighty in retrospective, it would have been better to make it dissapear in one of those last spins :thonk:

@hideki
Oh, I've just notised you had streched the salt :omegalul:

Well, it kinda adds to the weirdness. I love it though, because it doesn't feel out of place.

@hideki just to say (I'm used to b3d and wood scraper ;p ) : usually the cutting blade is not so Pi/4 - 90° oriented but more at at ~Pi/8 - 45° related to the wood plane ...
otherwise it's pretty cool ;p

@Olm_e Thank you! yeah, probably it's true :comfyxd: i based the angle on a reference image i saw of the actual tool and i just copied the angle, they may have had it that way for illustrative purposes or i don't know.

@hideki ok ... looks like some are done with the blade more straight so to more finely polish the wood that to scrape mater out of it ... you just don't never know the diversity of tools in #woodworking so nevermind ;)

@Olm_e @hideki usually scrapers are have more of a spokeshave body to them aka a cabinet scraper (pic rel) or are just a straight up blade that you hold (card scraper) - never seen a scraper plane before though - turns out they're for smoothing really fucked up grain that changes direction a lot over a large area which would be very hard and time-consuming to do with a card scraper and keep flat. Woodworking hand tools are fascinating :hapyretard:

@hideki I get why random colour mode isn't the default (looks kinda silly) but I still really wish it was

@applejack you know you can set it as default, right?

Set your workspace and your options exactly how you want them, then file > defaults > save startutp file. Then Blender will start like that every time.

I prefer this random mode because it allows me to know better which objects are separated and which are joined and all.

@Arkana thanks!

The lighting is a bit stupid and the details are barely visible but it always serves as practice.

@hideki Yeah I would definitely re-use that sculpt sometime. Maybe you could for Christmas by adding some leaves

@LukeAlmighty it's a scene of two keyframes.

For keyframe 1 the ball is a bit behind the end position, and keyframe 2 the ball is where i want it.

Then i enabled the motion blur on the render settings (cycles), rendered only the frame 2 and it's done.

@hideki
BTW, it reminds me of my favorite 100 percent real english word.
