@matana obviously you have to do things in moderation and not hover over them and take away all of their privacy because they still deserve some too. But education first and foremost is good. For my kids it'll probably be something like using KeePass so I have access to their passwords, requiring a password to get on the computer that's in the living room, and not giving them a smartphone at age 12 that they can do whatever the fuck on. Will they get around blocks and use stuff at their friends houses? Yeah, probably, but that's what proper education is for, including internet privacy and security :)

Children are a blessing from the Lord Jeff. The world is not overpopulated and it would be impossible to overpopulate it. If fact the vast majority of the Earth's surface is uninhabited. If you took every human being on earth and put them shoulder to shoulder, back to back they would cover the area of the city of Jacksonville Florida.
Actually having a large population is a strength and an asset to a nation. China and Japan are finally realizing this and relaxing laws and promoting families and children.

Tor hidden services, I2P, Usenet, forums that require login in order to view, other chat protocols. There are a bunch of other options.
Also if the ROM hack in question is a patch, then it falls under fair use.
@MasterSimper If your forum is only getting one new thread per month, then I think a simple shoutbox or guestbook would be better options.
And if your community is too small to justify a forum, just get a simple shoutbox or guestbook on your website. Those usually don't require accounts to use so users don't have to jump through hoops just to be a part of your community.
@MasterSimper @Tadano Okay, that makes sense. I actually have noticed that with video game proto archive communities, even mods and hacks are distributed through Discord.
I've also noticed that people are using Google Docs in place of wikis as well, like these people can't even host a wiki on Fandom (which is already a bad choice in its own right).

Dear gamedevs: please stop hosting your communities on Reddit and/or Discord and get an actual forum. You player-base can cope with it, trust me.
