The federal government owns 27% of all land in America.

DOGE should study the economic benefits of privatizing more of it.

Now that the pendulum is clearly swinging toward the right, what are these "populist politicians" and "anti-establishment radicals" actually accomplishing? Are we seeing a real revolution, or just more of the same?

I feel like the cutting of DEI and wokeness, especially from Big Tech is just going to bring more of that crap to FOSS spaces and make the wokeness problems there much worse.

You are already seeing it now as even more people are ditching Twitter in favor of Mastodon and BlueSky. You also have European leftists boycotting all American companies out of fear that they may be funding trans genocide, so expect more of them embracing FOSS and ruining even more projects and services.

Despite all the bloated features that C++ has added over the years to the point that it is difficult to fully master, why has nobody bothered to make a string split method?

Hot take: I think more FOSS projects should go the Ardour business model and charge people for binaries. You'd be surprised to see how many people don't know how to compile from source or that they could legally get a binary for free from a mirror (provided that there is one).

You may think that this sounds scummy, but who cares? I think it's better than just simply relying on donations. This guarantees that at least some people will pay for the software because until someone redistributes it, the only way to get the latest release is to pay for the binary.
